Bravo Concept Testimonials

Bravo Concept Testimonials

Bravo has been the answer I was looking for my extractions during both my preparation and my competition time at the World barista championship in Milan in 2025 . It made me feel safe regarding the consistency that was needed and also confident enough for my brewings! No fancy designs or instagramable structure but comfortable, precise and also very durable through time.

FAQ - Bravo Tamper

How do I use the Bravo Tamper?
  1. Preparation: Place your desired amount of ground coffee in the portafilter and position the tamper over it.
  2. Initial Tamp: Begin tamping by slowly pressing the aluminum handle downward. Initially, only the first spring will be active, keeping the alignment base in place and ensuring your puck is level.
  3. Full Compaction: Continue tamping until you feel increased resistance. This indicates the second spring is engaged, providing firmer compaction. This is where the actual pressure is applied to the coffee.
  4. Completion: When you feel a slight "click" inside the tamper, it means compaction is complete. Stop applying pressure and slowly lift the aluminum handle back to its starting position.
  5. Optional Polish: To polish the puck surface, simply lower the aluminum handle again and gently rotate it to create a smooth, polished coffee bed.

What is the default tamping force?

The Bravo Tamper is set to a default tamping force of approximately 13kg (28.6 lbs) at the factory. This is the optimal starting point for most espresso applications. However, the force can be adjusted to suit your specific coffee, grind profile, and extraction style.

How do I adjust the tamping force?

Tamping force can be easily adjusted by turning the Allen screw located at the bottom of the threaded cap on the handle. Each millimeter of adjustment changes the applied force by approximately 2.5 lbs (1.1 kg).

To increase pressure: Turn the Allen screw clockwise (inward)

To decrease pressure: Turn the Allen screw counterclockwise (outward)

The adjustable range is 26–34 lbs (11.8–15.4 kg), allowing you to fine-tune the pressure to match different coffees and extraction styles. For detailed calibration instructions, consult the product manual.
