FAQs
The handle nut is loose. What should I do?
Before tightening the top nut, check whether the bottom nut — which secures the shaft to the bearing — is fully threaded. Hold the grinder, keep the lever from turning, and tighten the bottom nut clockwise until fully seated. Then reinstall the top nut normally.
It feels like the burr is slipping and not grinding. What should I do?
Check the grind setting: if it’s above 0.5 turns and not grinding, tighten the screw that secures the inner burr to the shaft using a 4 mm Allen key. It must be firmly tightened - not just “slightly snug.”
I hear a faint squeaking sound when rotating the handle. Is that normal?
It usually isn’t. First, make sure the setting is above 0.5 turns. Then check whether the bean cap is properly seated on the o-ring - if it’s crooked, it may rub against the adjustment ring.
If the sound comes from the handle knob, remove the wooden part, lubricate the shaft with mineral oil, and reinstall.
My grind suddenly became inconsistent. What could have happened?
This is usually caused by play in the lever assembly. Check for up-and-down movement in the lever or inner burr. In most cases, the bearing nut loosened during transport. Tighten it completely before reinstalling the lever.
How do I understand the “Total Zero” on the Bravo IT?
Total Zero is when the burrs are horizontally aligned - not locked together. It is the reference point for counting grind-setting turns consistently across different units.
My grinder makes a “TIC TAC” sound when I flip it. Is something wrong?
This sound is normal! The internal funnel is intentionally designed to move slightly on the shaft to prevent coffee buildup in the bearing. When you tilt the grinder, it shifts and produces this light sound.
Which brewing methods is Bravo IT suitable for?
All of them: espresso, pour-over, moka, Aeropress, French press, and cold brew. The Stepless system covers the full grinding range.
Is it hard to dial in espresso?
Quite the opposite. The Stepless system allows ultra-precise micro adjustments - exactly the finesse that espresso requires.
Is it fast to grind?
Yes. Thanks to the large 47 mm burrs, Bravo IT delivers excellent performance and requires fewer rotations to grind the same amount of coffee.
Does it require maintenance?
Very little: periodic cleaning to remove residue and occasional lubrication of the handle knob. Internal parts do not require lubrication. (Confirmed by the manual.)
Can I grind anything besides coffee?
No. The grinder is designed exclusively for coffee beans.
What’s the maximum bean capacity?
Up to 45g (1,58oz), according to the catalog.
Is Bravo IT a good grinder for beginners?
Yes! It offers barista-level precision with ergonomics and simplicity that make life easier for beginners and it grows with you as you advance in coffee.
Can I carry it in a backpack?
Yes, but always with the handle installed and preferably inside the neoprene carrying bag (accessory). This prevents nut loosening and protects the components.
